Entry with personal ID card
Citizens of the following countries may enter the territory of Hungary with a personal identification card for a stay of maximum 90 days, provided the purpose of their visit is not to take up work or to conduct business-related activities: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland.
Entry with passport, but no visa required
Citizens of European countries (with the exception of Albania, Russia, Serbia-Montenegro, Turkey and the Ukraine) do not need a visa to enter Hungary. Citizens of the following countries outside Europe similarly do not require a visa: Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Republic of Korea, Macao, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Salvador, Singapore, USA, Uruguay, Venezuela.

HOW TO OBTAIN A VISA

Please keep in mind that it can take more than one month for your visa to be processed.
VISA ASSISTANCE FROM IEEE COMMUNICATIONS SOCIETY
Technical Paper Authors can generate their Visa Assistance Letters from ComSoc through EDAS.
- Log into EDAS site, and find your paper
- Toward the bottom of the page, you will find in the properties column the words "visa letter", and beside it, an image of an envelope outlined in yellow
- Click on this envelope, and you will be able to confirm or change your address information reflected in the letter.
- Then the system will generate the letter for your use.

All Other Participants (i.e., speakers, committee members), including authors needing a printed copy letter should follow the instructions listed at the
COMSOC VISA Assistance Web site.
